In a wet-room layout, the freestanding tub and walk-in shower share one open, fully tiled, fully waterproofed zone behind a single glass enclosure. No curb. Linear drain. Floor pitched evenly toward it.

Smart toilets (Toto Neorest, Kohler Numi) and digital shower controls (Brizo SmartShower, U by Moen) are now part of luxury bathroom standard issue — once you''ve lived with them, anything else feels primitive.
What we don''t install: gimmicks. Voice-controlled toilet flushes, mood-LED bidets, and color-cycling shower heads do not improve a single morning. We focus on smart fixtures that genuinely make daily use better and skip the rest.

Should I do a freestanding tub or skip the tub?
For resale and family use, keep at least one tub in the home. For your master, do what you''ll actually use. If you take baths regularly, a freestanding sculptural tub is a daily luxury. If you don''t, a generously sized walk-in shower with a bench is the better move.
How important is heated flooring?
More than people expect. Even in San Diego, stone tile is cold underfoot in the morning. Electric radiant under tile, programmed on a schedule, is one of the highest-impact-per-dollar luxury upgrades in any bathroom remodel. We add it to almost every master we build.
What''s the right shower spec for a luxury master?

What stone is best for the shower walls?
Quartzite is the most durable natural stone for a wet zone. Marble is gorgeous but needs more vigilance with sealing in the shower. Porcelain slab (Dekton, Neolith) is bulletproof and works for floor-to-ceiling looks at lower cost. We''ll match the choice to your maintenance tolerance.
Are smart toilets really worth it?
For most luxury clients, yes. Heated seat, integrated bidet, auto open/close, night light, and self-cleaning. Toto Neorest is the gold standard. Once installed, almost no client downgrades back to a standard toilet on their next bathroom.
